Privacy Policy
RoveOn ("we," "us," or "our") operates the RoveOn mobile application (the "App") and the RoveOn website at roveon.app (the "Website"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the App or the Website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information. When you create an account on the App or Website, we collect your name and email address.
Waitlist Information. When you join our waitlist via the Website, we collect your email, first name, and the city or area you're interested in. You may optionally indicate your activities (running, cycling, walking).
Location Data. The App collects your device's GPS location to generate routes and provide navigation. Location is collected only while you are actively using the App. The Website does not collect precise location.
App and Website Usage Data. We collect information about how you interact with the App and Website, including features used, routes viewed, pages visited, and session activity. This information is used to operate and improve our services.
Device and Browser Information. We collect standard device information such as device type, operating system version, browser type, and IP address for technical support, security, and to understand how our services are used.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the App and Website, including route generation, navigation, account management, and waitlist processing
- To maintain and improve performance, reliability, and user experience
- To send transactional communications, including account notices, waitlist confirmations, and notifications when RoveOn becomes available in your area
- To process subscriptions, manage billing, and provide subscription-related support
- To enforce our Terms of Service and protect the integrity of our services
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: required for core site functionality including authentication and security. These cannot be disabled.
- Functional cookies: remember your preferences (such as units or theme).
- Analytics cookies: help us understand how the Website is used so we can improve it. These are aggregated and do not identify you individually.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Website from functioning correctly.
4. Third-Party Services
The App and Website rely on third-party service providers to operate. These providers may receive limited user data as necessary to perform their services:
- Authentication and data storage providers — store your account information and app data securely
- Mapping and navigation providers — receive location data to render maps and support navigation
- Stripe (payment processor) — processes web payments. We never see or store your payment card information.
- RevenueCat (subscription management) — manages subscription state across web (Stripe), iOS (App Store), and Android (Google Play). Receives a non-identifying account identifier and your subscription status; does not receive payment information.
- Email delivery providers — send transactional emails such as account confirmations and waitlist updates
- Analytics and error monitoring providers — help us understand how our services are used and detect technical issues
- AI services — receive de-identified route data to generate in-app content
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — used for App distribution, Website hosting, updates, and performance
Each provider operates under its own privacy policy. We work only with providers who meet appropriate data protection standards.
5. Payments
Subscription payments made through the App are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Subscription payments made through the Website are processed by Stripe, Inc. In all cases, RoveOn does not collect, store, or have access to your payment card or billing information. Stripe is a PCI-DSS Level 1 service provider, which means RoveOn does not handle cardholder data directly.
To support a unified subscription experience across the App and Website, we use RevenueCat, Inc. RevenueCat receives a non-identifying account identifier and your subscription status. It does not receive payment card information.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We share data only as follows:
- Service providers: with the providers described in Section 4, solely to operate the App and Website
- Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or governmental authority
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger or acquisition, with notice provided to you beforehand
- Safety: to protect the rights, property, or safety of RoveOn, our users, or the public
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Waitlist information is retained until your area becomes available or until you ask us to remove it. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us at hello@roveon.app.
8. Children's Privacy
The App and Website are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so inadvertently, please contact us at hello@roveon.app and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights and Choices
